HOLIS
In August 2018, Dana was a design mentor at HOLIS interdisciplinary summer school. Taking place in Sobole, a rural region of Poland, the camp aims to get international students involved in generating sustainable solutions for the countryside.
Working with an all-women team, Dana led the group to design a pop-up garden in the local school’s backyard, planted, and tended to by children as an extracurricular activity. Facilitation would be provided by a local experienced gardener focusing on teaching children responsibility, care and ownership.
Following the produce’s growth, the children would run monthly cooking sessions at the local Cultural Foundation (and former school), showcasing their skills, uniting the community and attracting new visitors.
