Incheon Art Platform Residency
Between December 2011 - March 2012, Dana was Artist in Residence at Incheon Art Platform, Incheon, South Korea.
During her residency, she investigated constructed memory and the past in relation to family ties. Following interviews and informal discussions with several Korean artists, and drawing parallels between shared experiences and Romanian-based ones, Dana created the gallery performance ‘In No Particular Order’.
Conceived as a ‘life in pictures’ presentation, the performance casts the audience as passive learners as they are led through the story by an audio narrator, and an ‘invisible’ host. ‘In no Particular Order’ questions the subconscious appropriation of stories, in an era where online images become more familiar than family photos. Can you still rely on the veridicality of your memory? How much can you trust, what is fabricated, which stories are still yours?
